Important: Complete one panel location at a time. Keep hands and your work area clean, use light center-out squeegee passes, and allow the finished vinyl to dry fully before racing.

🧱 HOW THE OVERLAYS WORK

Die cut overlays are precision-cut specialty vinyl numbers made to align over the printed number panels in your graphics kit. They add real texture, depth, and reflective effects that cannot be created with print alone.

🧼 PREPARATION & PLACEMENT

Keep the graphic kit flat and work on one location at a time—such as the roof, nose, driver side, or passenger side. Match the location label on each overlay before starting. Mist the printed number area and exposed adhesive with Rapid Tac or a light soapy-water mixture, align the overlay, then use gentle center-out squeegee passes.

Keep a hobby knife nearby while lifting overlays from the carrier. If a small tangent is still connected, carefully free it rather than pulling hard. Clean hands and a clean work area help the adhesive bond correctly.

✅ FINISHING & CURING

After all numbers for the current location are squeegeed down, mist the transfer tape and allow it to soak until the edges begin to release. Peel the tape back low and slow. If a small section lifts, lay the tape back down, re-wet it, and squeegee the area before continuing. Check all edges, blot moisture with a lint-free cloth, and allow the finished vinyl to dry for a few hours before racing.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Should I install the overlays before applying the main graphics kit?

Often, yes. Applying overlays while the kit is still flat on its backing sheet can be easier. Follow the placement order that makes the most sense for your specific kit.

Can I use heat?

Most flat areas do not need heat. Mild heat can help only when a number must conform to a curved area. Use it sparingly and avoid overheating the vinyl.

What slip solution should I use?

Rapid Tac is ready to use, easy to work with, and available on Amazon.com in very small or larger containers. For a DIY option, mix 1 quart of room-temperature distilled water with 4–6 drops of mild dish detergent.
