🛠️ How did Darkside Studios come about?

Darkside Studios LLC started from a deep love of RC racing, custom graphics, and detailed artwork. What began as small-batch, one-off graphics for local racers grew into a full-time studio specializing in high-end wraps, skins, chassis kits, and apparel artwork for RC enthusiasts across the world.

Every design is created in-house, one project at a time, with a focus on original artwork, precise fitment, and long-lasting materials.

🎨 What does Darkside Studios specialize in?

  • RC graphics wraps and decal kits for dirt oval, off-road, drag, boats, planes, crawlers, and more.
  • Chassis skins and hop-up skins for a variety of popular RC platforms.
  • Theme-driven designs like BOOZE CRUISER, Hyper, Marked Up, Fusion/FusionX, and more, built specifically for RC racers.
  • Custom apparel designed in-house, including tees, hoodies, pit gear, and more to match your RC graphics.
  • Specialty materials and finishes such as chrome bases, metallic flake, prism, fracture, GeoHex, SuperGloss, Xtreme Bash, and other premium add-ons.

Everything is made to order and tailored to the RC market — no generic clip-art or mass-produced designs.

Many graphics kits also support optional base material upgrades and protective finish add-ons, allowing you to customize both the appearance and durability of your graphics. Available options vary by product.

✨ What are graphic add-ons and specialty finishes?

Many Darkside Studios graphics kits can be customized with optional add-ons that change the base material, final surface appearance, level of shine, texture, reflectivity, or durability of the finished graphics.

  • Base Materials change what your graphics are printed onto, such as Standard White Vinyl, STR8 Chrome, or Oil Spill Chrome.
  • Protective Finishes are applied over the printed graphics and affect the final surface appearance, gloss level, texture, reflectivity, and protection.
  • Specialty Finish Add-Ons may include options such as Metallic Flake, Fracture, GeoHex, Prism, SuperGloss, and Xtreme Bash depending on the product.
  • Available add-ons vary by product. Not every material or finish is available on every graphics kit.

Chrome base materials and reflective finishes can change dramatically depending on lighting, viewing angle, movement, and the colors printed over them. Matte and Xtreme Bash finishes may reduce the reflective look of chrome bases, while specialty add-ons such as Fracture, GeoHex, Metallic Flake, and Prism are generally gloss-sheen effects only.

👁️ Why can’t every specialty material be previewed exactly?

Some specialty base materials and finishes—including Oil Spill Chrome, chrome, holographic, prismatic, and other reflective effects—interact with light, viewing angle, movement, and the colors printed over them. A flat one- or two-dimensional screen preview cannot reliably show how those materials will look in person.

To avoid presenting a simulated effect that may be misleading, I do not always create a digital mockup for specialty material selections. When a specialty base or finish is selected, the preview may instead use a checked selection box to confirm the exact option you chose. Your selected material or finish is then applied during manufacturing, so you receive the option you paid for.

📞 Do you have a phone number?

Darkside Studios LLC is a one-person studio, and almost all work happens hands-on at the design desk or print shop. To keep projects moving and maintain clear written records, support is handled by email only.

  • This ensures all instructions, approvals, and changes are documented and easy to reference.
  • Email is also the best way to share photos, mockups, and preview links.

🛠️ Do you offer custom design services?

Yes — time permitting, custom work is available for racers and teams who want something beyond the standard themes.

  • One-off layouts, team liveries, and unique concepts can be done when the schedule allows.
  • Custom work is quoted individually and may require additional design time and approval steps.
  • Custom orders follow all of our Terms & Conditions regarding previews, approvals, and non-returnable status.

⏱️ How long does it take to ship an order?

All products are made to order and are produced in the order they are received. There are no rush options or deadline guarantees.

  • Design & approval: Typically 1–3 business days for graphics and apparel setup.
  • Production & print time: Begins after approval and varies based on workload and item type.
  • Apparel & pit mats: Designed in-house, then produced by a trusted fulfillment partner. Production time depends on region and product type.
  • Transit time: Depends on the shipping method and carrier and is in addition to design and production time.

🛡️ Is there a warranty?

No. As stated in our Terms & Conditions, all products are sold without expressed or implied warranties.

  • The buyer is responsible for proper installation, surface prep, and use.
  • We do not guarantee performance in racing conditions, crash damage, misuse, or installation errors.

🌍 Do you ship world-wide?

Yes — Darkside Studios LLC ships to most countries world-wide.

  • We offer flat-rate Economy International shipping on most qualifying orders.
  • Faster, trackable options such as Priority or Express may be available at checkout depending on your location.
  • Buyers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, and brokerage or customs fees.
  • Refused packages due to unpaid fees are not eligible for refunds.

📦 How do you package your products?

  • Graphics & wrap kits: Typically shipped rolled and protected in rigid mailers or sturdy packaging to prevent creasing and edge damage.
  • Small decals & sticker sheets: Shipped in flat mailers with backing boards or protective sleeves where appropriate.
  • Apparel & pit mats: Printed and packed by our trusted manufacturing partner, then shipped directly to you.

All items are packed with the goal of arriving ready to install or wear. If something arrives damaged, please review our Returns, Refunds & Reprints section for instructions.

↩️ What is your return policy on graphics?

Graphics and wraps are made to order, so returns are limited.

  • Eligible items must be unused, uncut, and uninstalled, and returned in original condition.
  • All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
  • Original shipping, including “free” shipping, may be deducted from refunds.
  • Custom designs, reprints, and installed or trimmed graphics are non-returnable.

🧭 What is the best way to navigate the site?

The site is built around fitment first, so you can quickly find what fits your specific model.

  • Start with the main Shop menu and choose your category, such as RC boats, planes, dirt oval, chassis skins, crawlers, and more.
  • Use the make/model filters to select the exact chassis or body you own.
  • If a specific model is listed and only one product appears, that is the currently available option for that fitment.
  • You can further narrow results using the on-page filters for themes, finishes, add-ons, and more.

If your model is not listed, that usually means we do not yet have a graphics set designed for that body or chassis.

📚 Do you have guides and instructions?

Yes. We provide written installation guidance to go along with our products.

  • We offer an Installation Instructions page with step-by-step text to accompany our printed instruction sheets.
  • Some products include additional install tips or notes in the product description.
  • Our Materials & Finishes Guide explains how base materials, chrome effects, laminates, protective finishes, and add-ons affect the final look of your graphics.

🎁 Do you have a Rewards Program?

Yes. Darkside Studios LLC offers a rewards system where you can earn points on qualifying purchases.

  • Time and energy are intentionally focused on what matters most: designing amazing artwork, producing quality products, and fulfilling orders.

🚗 Can I send you my RC body to be wrapped?

No. At this time, Darkside Studios LLC does not offer mail-in body wrapping or installation services.

  • We produce high-quality, self-install graphics kits and wraps that are shipped to you.
  • You or your local hobby shop/painter are responsible for prepping the body and installing the graphics.
  • This approach keeps costs reasonable and avoids shipping risks or damage to your painted RC bodies.
